The benefits of this smoothie are endless. These are only a few of the reasons why we love it.
Benefits of Kale:
High in iron. Per calorie, kale has more iron than beef. Iron is essential for the formation of hemoglobin and enzymes, transporting oxygen to various parts of the body, cell growth, proper liver function, and more.
High in Vitamin K. Vitamin K can help protect against various cancers, and it is necessary for a wide variety of bodily functions, including normal bone health, and the prevention of blood clotting. Increased levels of vitamin K can help people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
High in antioxidants. Antioxidants, such as carotenoids and flavonoids help protect against various cancers.
Anti-inflammatory food. One cup of kale is filled with 10% of the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of omega-3 fatty acids, which help fight against arthritis, asthma, and autoimmune disorders.
Cardiovascular support. Eating more kale can help lower cholesterol levels.
High in Vitamin A. Vitamin A is great for vision, skin, and the prevention of lung and oral cavity cancers.
High in Vitamin C. This is very helpful for the immune system, metabolism, and hydration.
High in calcium. Per calorie, kale has more calcium than milk, which aids in preventing bone loss and osteoporosis, and maintaining a healthy metabolism. Vitamin C is also helpful in maintaining cartilage and joint flexibility.
Benefits of Wheatgrass:
Blood Cleanser. Wheatgrass increases red blood-cell count and lowers blood pressure. It cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract of debris. Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body’s enzyme systems by enriching the blood. It also aids in reducing blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.
Thyroid Regulator. Wheatgrass stimulates the thyroid gland, correcting obesity, indigestion, and a host of other complaints.
Alkalinity Booster. It restores alkalinity to the blood. The juice’s abundance of alkaline minerals helps reduce over-acidity in the blood. It can be used to relieve many internal pains and has been used successfully to treat peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea, and other complaints of the gastrointestinal tract.
Blood Detoxifying & Cancer Protector. Wheatgrass is a powerful detoxifier as well as liver and blood protector. The enzymes and amino acids found in wheatgrass can protect from carcinogens like no other food or medicine. It strengthens body cells, detoxifies the liver and bloodstream, and chemically neutralizes environmental pollutants.
