Cohesive Change Conquers All
“Divide et impera”—the “divide the people so you can conquer them” approach—is attributed to Julius Caesar back in the time of the Roman Empire. Modern society is based on the same concept of labeling and dividing in order to confuse people, create dissent, and lead them to fight amongst themselves based on a difference of thought or opinion. The thing is, the Roman Empire fell later on, and the opposite concept of unite and conquer has proven to be more appropriate for those who have created the greatest, most positive changes that history has seen.
My point is not political nor social. My point is to unite in a fight for education and sustainability for all. Promoting unity doesn’t mean brainwashing people or embracing conformity. It means focusing on the real goal and create historic change.
We can’t only focus on nutrition and not care for the planet when all of our food comes from the Earth. We can’t focus on animal rights and not care about nutrition; we will perish before achieving our goal. We can’t speak for the environment and not care for animals, nutrition, or agriculture when these three strongly determine our environmental state. They are all intrinsically connected and yet we often choose to raise our voices for one and not the other.
My hope is that we unite and conquer with a great measure of science, education, compassion, and consciousness that helps us grow into a cohesive race. One that changes the course of history and gives the new generations something to emulate.
