Naked Food Magazine is dedicated to a wonderful and noble human being who changed my life, and the lives of everyone who knew him. An incredibly loving heart who taught me that happiness is in the journey, and that kindness and sacrifice for others is the most rewarding way of living.

At the age of 48, Tom was diagnosed with a Stage IV terminal brain cancer, GBM. Glioblastoma Multiforme is the most aggressive and malignant type ofastrocytoma known to men.  It is aggressive, infiltrative, and cannot be cured by surgery. It grows fast and spread quickly.  After 3 months of switching to a plant-based diet, Tom’s tumor growth had miraculously decreased 25%.

He passed away 5 months later in January 2012 after receiving conventional aggressive drug and radiation treatments.

Naked Food Magazine was born a year later in his honor.  Naked Food is praise to life, love, and health and a way to inspire others to take control of their health through Lifestyle Medicine.  A way to honor the ones we have lost and whose strength and valor will live forever.

For the glory of love in all its forms and the hope of meeting again.

In your honor Mooky, Thomas Michael DiCandia (1961-2012).  We will end brain cancer.  Every cancer. XO

Margarita, what a beautiful story and what a testament of your love, loyalty and integrity to Mooky. You are a truly inspiration and knowing that we are not alone on a similar situation is of great encouragement. A donation to Naked was the perfect birthday gift to my beloved husband. Thanks so much for everything you have done and continue to do to spread the knowledge of WFPB nutrition around the globe. We are very grateful and humble for what you have done.

I just subscribed after learning of the existence of your magazine in a Wikipedia piece on Neal Barnard. I am thrilled — have been looking for such a magazine (in print) since adopting a whole foods, plant-based diet and taking Dr. Campbell’s certificate course at eCornell. So happy to see the names of all the experts I follow, providing content I can trust for myself and others. Can’t wait to get my first issue in the mail. Thank you!

    • It’s an honor to have you as a reader, Donna! What a beautiful comment, we are thrilled to know that you’ve found us. Welcome to the Naked Food Lifestyle! <3 <3 <3

I just subscribed. i couldn’t help myself. Finally a magazine for people like me. Hard to believe. I am the only person that i know who does what i do–keep a plant base whole food, no oil diet. There are many others even here in Israel but close at hand I know no one.So thanks so much for putting this magazine together. I cried when i read about Mooky. He looks like a person you could love a lot. And for love let’s try to make our surroundings and food as healthy as possible. so that our loved ones will be healthy and live a long time.

    • Dear Carol, thank you for your beautiful comment! Mooky definitely was a bearer of joy and he is missed everyday. He has also been essential instrument in every thing we’ve done.

Yes, we know how you feel… many of us experience the same and feel alone in regards to our lifestyle, however, that’s exactly why the magazine exists, for people like you and us, and for everyone who is open to hear the truth about health. We are here to help and support you in every step of the way! Thrilled to have you in the family now. <3
